[dropcap]A[/dropcap]n intensive activity involved Overmarine | Mangusta this last month. After having introduced a new model in its line of long-range displacements vessels – the Mangusta Oceano 50 – at the Yacht Club de Monaco in April (with the first unit already under construction with completion expected in 2020), and delivered the third 43-meter yacht in the Mangusta Oceano series of displacement vessels, the Mangusta Oceano 43, the Viareggio-based yard has announced the sale of the new model presented in Miami in February, Mangusta GranSport 33. Destined to an American client, the yacht will be ready for delivery in 2020.
“This sale confirms that our project – developed with a strong focus on achieving a perfect combination of design and state-of-the-art technology – is interesting and attractive” comments Mangusta’s Commercial Director Francesco Frediani. “We were counting on its success, but were nonetheless surprised by how fast we moved from the presentation stage – through renderings and videos – to actually securing the deal. In any sale, success always stems from the combination of the right product, an Owner who literally falls in love with it, and a highly professional team. The Mangusta GranSport line, penciled by Alberto Mancini, has been designed by the Overmarine Group with a view to achieving a very long range at cruising speed as well as very high-speed performances, always ensuring maximum onboard comfort – a flawless combination that can be summarized as “pure versatility”. The Mangusta GranSport 33 is the new entry level in her line, sharing with larger models the same harmonious blend of stylish design and technical solutions, a strong personality and timeless elegance, sporty features and comfort, outstanding performances and maximum efficiency. The yacht’s exteriors and interiors feature the same harmonized design style, which expresses Mangusta yachts’ distinctive en plein air lifestyle to the fullest.
A wide, fully-equipped cockpit welcomes guests as they step onboard. The wide flybridge includes a sunbathing area, a bar and a living area, allowing the Owner and his guests to chill out while enjoying the utmost privacy and total freedom of movement. Another lounge area furnished with a sofa and a table to dine al fresco is located forward, where a large sunbathing area with Jacuzzi tub can also be found.
Inside, the main deck features a spacious and bright salon where plenty of natural light shines through several ceiling-high windows, two of which can be opened to let in the pleasant Mediterranean breeze and ensure natural air circulation. The galley, adjacent to the salon, allows the crew to serve guests easily and efficiently. The master stateroom is located on the main deck, too – a key choice allowing the Owner to enjoy spacious volumes, unmatched privacy and incredible brightness.
The lower deck hosts 4 comfortable guest cabins, for which several configurations are available.
The Mangusta GranSport 33 is powered by an innovative propulsion system that pushes her to a maximum speed of 26 knots while also ensuring incredibly low vibrations and great noiselessness, resulting in unmatched comfort.
Thanks to her very limited draft of 1.9 m (6.2 ft), allowing her to easily cruise in very shallow waters, this yacht is ideal, for instance, to enjoy the Bahamas during the winter season or the Hamptons in the summer.

The new Mangusta Oceano 50 is another design by Alberto Mancini, who describes the project with the following words:
“A multitude of sketches on paper, the pencil sculpting every detail. I want it to be a megayacht with a strong, powerful and sleek personality but with the shadows and reflections of a sculpture that plays with empty and full surfaces almost as if the aluminum were molded onto a living thing in motion. I balance the hard and soft sinews and then create a line to highlight the windows and extend them as a single section that unites the interior and exterior. I begin to imagine the decks as if sculpted by the wind, each cantilevered over the lower deck. But that’s not enough and I then create cuts, as if the aluminum were a light canvas, and illuminate them with indirect light to highlight the hidden surfaces and give them more and more character… and in my thoughts I can already admire the yacht as its reflections illuminate a beautiful bay in the Caribbean night.”
In terms of design and volumes, the Mangusta Oceano 50 was designed with an eye to optimizing exterior and interior volumes while remaining within the limit of 500GT. Guests will be welcomed onboard by really impressive exterior areas, starting from the aft cockpit, where sofas are built-in inside a teak shell that forms a square ring slightly lower than the side walkways, resulting in an exclusive private area. The effect is that of the living room of a villa overlooking the sea instead of a lush garden. The glazed floor lets through plenty of natural light, brightening the beach club below.
Moving the garage to the bow area has allowed to create an impressively spacious beach club. The transom door and the two side hatches open up to 180 degrees, creating a wide, fully-equipped platform on the sea, with the possibility to have a convenient walk-around passage.
The bow area, too, features ingenious and smart solutions. The stylish, spacious cockpit, which the Owner can furnish to his own taste, is located above the garage, fitting a tender of over 6 meters in length and two jet skis. After launching the tender, the inside basin can be filled with water to create a counter-current swimming pool.
A second pool, a Jacuzzi pool, can be found on the sun deck, which also features a dining table seating 12 guests, sheltered by a full-beam hard top, and a lounge area.
Onboard, the key feature is undoubtedly the use of light. Natural light cuts across all exterior and interior decks, while hidden illumination points highlight details and, at night, endow the yacht with unique character and charm.
The interiors have been designed to achieve flawless continuity with the exteriors. The ceiling-high windows in the main deck salon and on the upper deck let plenty of light shine through the bulwarks, which have been hollowed out to offer an even wider view of the sea.
Alberto Mancini’s refined décor style proposal revolves around a harmonious blend of elegant and soft light colors – fine materials like linen and silk in the shades of light blue and turquoise, white marbles, and sand-color oak wood parquet create an elegantly balanced contrast with the night-blue ash wood and the brass finishes.
As to technology and comfort, on the Mangusta Oceano 50 every single detail has been devoted the greatest care, and the yacht’s technical characteristics and performances are no exception. Equipped with two MTU 12V 2000 M86 engines that push her to a maximum speed of 16 knots, this vessel can boast a range of 4,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 11 knots, also ensuring limited consumption.
The yacht, starting from her bulbous bow steel hull, has been designed so as to ensure great maneuverability and maximum versatility, excellent stability both at anchor and when cruising, and very limited noise and vibrations, also through the use of cutting-edge technologies and materials.

The Mangusta Oceano 43, the third 43-meter yacht in the Mangusta Oceano series of displacement vessels, previously known as “Project Firenze”, has been officially delivered to her Owner. The official ceremony was held on Overmarine Group’s private quay following the successful completion of the tests and sea trials, held in the rough winter seas. A new model in this line will very soon be launched on the market
