Launched last month at the Bilgin Yachts’s yard in Istanbul, the 80-meter Al Reem (ex-Project Silence), represents the culmination of the 263 series. This third hull, sold in 2022, epitomizes luxury and innovation in equal measure, following Tatiana in 2020 and Leona shortly after. During its construction phase, the vessel promised a 20% larger volume than its predecessors, translating into enhanced comfort and autonomy for discerning seafarers.
Collaborating once again with Antalya-based Unique Yacht Design for naval architecture and exterior design, and H2 Yacht Design for the interior, Bilgin Yachts has spared no effort in ensuring Al Reem stands as a paragon of elegance and sophistication.
Under the direction of Emrecan Özgün, founder and CEO of Unique Yacht Design, Al Reem features a redesigned superstructure that enhances both form and function. At 1,758 gross tons, she surpasses her sisterships in interior volume by nearly 100 GT, providing more expansive living spaces. Özgün describes Al Reem as a fresh interpretation of the 80-meter platform, tailored to enhance visual impact and onboard experience.
The launch
Al Reem embodies the sleek, modern design ethos characteristic of the Bilgin 263 series. H2 Yacht Design, led by Jonny Horsfield, created a light, neutral interior palette emphasizing calm and comfort. The interiors prioritize understated luxury through thoughtful material choices and textures. Rich Macassar ebony, eucalyptus, and opulent marble accents merge seamlessly, creating an ambiance of unbridled luxury throughout the yacht’s expansive interior.
CEO and founder of Unique Yacht Design, Emrecan Ozgün, describes the Bilgin 263 series as a groundbreaking achievement in yacht design, eschewing conventional tropes in favor of a timeless aesthetic that sets new standards in the industry. Al Reem‘s owner’s deck, accessible via a glass elevator connecting all decks, ensures unparalleled privacy and convenience. Moreover, the relocation of the wheelhouse to the top deck enhances bridge visibility, further elevating the yachting experience. Jonny Horsfield of H2 Yacht Design echoes this sentiment, expressing his delight in crafting an interior that seamlessly blends modernity with plush comfort, ensuring Al Reem remains a beacon of refinement on the open seas. Of particular note is the redesigned staircase at the heart of the vessel, complemented by a spacious, circular lift traversing all decks, symbolizing Al Reem‘s commitment to seamless connectivity and luxury. With an elongated upper deck offering additional covered space and a refined swimming pool area, Al Reem epitomizes the pinnacle of luxury living on the high seas.
Powered by two 2,560 kW engines, Al Reem boasts a top speed of 19 knots, while maintaining a fuel consumption of 280 l/h at a cruising speed of 12 knots, akin to her sister ships, Tatiana and Leona. Notable technical enhancements include an optimized hull and decks, a revamped ventilation system, and an increased generator capacity.
