BO116 belongs to Benetti’s Oasis 40m family and is perfectly in line with the original designs by RWD for the exteriors and Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture for the interiors. This yacht was created with a precise aim in mind: to offer an experience of unparalleled on-board wellbeing made possible by the innovative Oasis Deck®, a concept developed by Benetti along with RWD. Oasis Deck® introduces a new on-board lifestyle in which the boundaries between people and nature are almost non-existent.
The beach area has been transformed into a terrace without physical or visual barriers, producing sensations of openness and freedom. The two side wings open out to increase the usable surface area to 90 square metres and the width to 11 metres, while a big central transformer makes entering and leaving the water easy by dropping down into the water to a depth of a metre or rising for easy access to the dock.
The exteriors by RWD feature a plumb bow, a vertical windscreen with extensive glazing and design details inspired by the automotive world, such as the silver paint around the windows. The wide-open spaces in the stern area are fitted out for relaxation and conviviality. There is an infinity pool in close proximity to the water, with a capacity of over 5,500 litres, heating, a hydro-massage function and an autonomous system that filters and recycles the pool’s fresh water. The area is dominated by a central sunpad, a sofa with a low table and a toy room accessed through a big deck hatch. Three steps lead to the main lounge via a curved sliding door in visual continuity with the exterior.
This interior-exterior fluidity can also be enjoyed on the Upper Deck, where the Skylounge opens onto a stern terrace containing a comfortable lounge area with an extending dining table and a sofa flanked by two armchairs. The Sun Deck – accessed mid-ship via a lateral staircase – has a table seating up to 14 people, a living area astern and a circular Jacuzzi forward, complete with a bar and sunpad ideal for relaxing in the sun.
Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture, the interior designer, opted for an organic, minimalist design, using muted colours and materials such as Calacatta marble, teak and white lacquered surfaces to create light-filled settings that reflect the natural light from outside. Huge windows and glass doors blur the distinction between interior and exterior, while the materials and colours of the exterior decks are reprised by the interiors, expanding the spaces visually.
On the Main Deck, two custom arc-shaped sofas at the entrance to the main lounge define the space and welcome guests. A special feature of BO116, one that could already be found on certain previous units and was a priority for this owner, is an alternative to the Main Deck dining area, which is replaced by a lounge space featuring an Onyx marble bar unit with back-lighting and decorated with leather front panels.
Behind a door on the left side of the lounge is a galley with a central island, providing the crew with access to their quarters and the Upper Deck via a private stairway. The master suite is on the righthand side, preceded by a wellness area. This refined, spacious cabin includes a living space and a sleeping area with large full-height windows, while a dressing room occupies the space between the owner’s cabin and bathroom, where the spacious shower also serves as a steam room, creating a relaxing and regenerating environment.
The futuristic wheelhouse on the Upper Deck offers a 180-degree view and can accommodate up to six people. The traditional yacht wheel is replaced by a carbon-fibre light bridge console, with a high level of software integration and controls arranged on two peninsula-shaped panels. In the stern area on the Upper Deck, a spacious Skylounge contains a comfy corner sofa, an American bar and a dining table.
Again with a view to maximising on-board wellness and encouraging conviviality, the owner requested the installation of a custom lighting system on the Sun Deck, complete with party lights and a DJ console for the ultimate in fun and socialisation.
The BO116’s five cabins (one on the Main Deck and four for guests on the Lower Deck) can accommodate up to 12 guests and, with two MAN V12-1400 engines, she has a cruising speed of 11 knots and a top speed of 17 knots. One of the yacht’s most important technical features is the Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) system in line with IMO Tier III exhaust gas emissions regulations. The BO116 is also fully compliant with the relevant standards for commercial use.
