BENETTI M/Y Kasper 7, when design loves the sea

Benetti built this 67-meter custom mega yacht for an owner couple who wanted to make it their home on the water, taking advantage of valuable input from the Shipyard, with Cassetta Yacht Designers for the exterior concept and the outstanding original touch of the owner herself, an experienced interior designer, in her own area of expertise.

The design of M/Y Kasper 7 is inspired by a combination of passion for the sea, refined aesthetic taste and, most importantly, understanding. Understanding between the owner couple, the Shipyard with its interior design department, and Giorgio Maria Cassetta, whose expertise translated the owners’ aspirations and desires onto paper.

In this new adventure, the soul of the project, with exteriors by Cassetta Yacht Designers and interiors by the owner herself, Nisrine Karagulla, lies in this being a totally custom 67-meter yacht, with the owner playing an important role in the choice of style and interior decor, the wood selection, and the layout of the spaces. Drawing on her work as a designer in the luxury real estate business and previous experience in the refit industry, the owner was involved in the project right from the design phase when, together with the Shipyard, she outlined a boat that behind the traditional lines and layout reveals a whole host of ingenious solutions for life on the water.

M/Y Kasper 7 is, in fact, now the owner couple’s new home, an elegant and refined beach house with a breathtaking view and fully appointed with every comfort for spending the day in complete relaxation and tranquillity. To ensure better service on board, the owners decided to reduce the number of cabins to only five, fewer than any other yacht this size, despite her extending across six decks, including the Bridge Deck where the wheelhouse is located, leaving plenty of space for the owner area forward on the Upper Deck.

A sense of wonder is the first impression on entering the lounge on the Main Deck. The sheer amount of space between the hull sides – over ten meters – and the extensive glazing contribute to the overall elegance of the architecture and give an even more fluid feel to the design, which floods the interior with natural light.

Almost 2 meters in diameter, four circular windows produce a spectacular effect, becoming a signature feature of the yacht’s profile and filling the interiors with light, from the generous main lounge to the cabins on the Lower Deck. Aesthetically original, they please the eye with their feeling of modernity and luminosity and give the yacht’s design a distinctive look. They were strongly desired by the owner, who wanted to establish a connection between the interiors and the natural environment by framing the beauty of the scenery outside. Designed as a beautiful and luxurious residence on the water, it was essential for the design to include a constant reminder of the natural environment around the yacht.

M/Y Kasper 7’s interior design combines modern elegance with a warm and welcoming mood based on sensations, where the furnishings aren’t static but create a sense of dynamism, inviting guests to interact and enjoy the space without limitations.

The main wood used on board M/Y Kasper 7 is Perpero, which decorates the walls in shades of pink and white, while the white oak floor and uncluttered white ceiling create a sensation of lightness, amplified by large windows that welcome in the natural light and offer breathtaking views.

The almost invisible light fixtures add a soft glow, imitating the natural light that enters the interiors through the Venetian blinds, while the pastel colours of the outdoor furniture are carefully selected to fit in perfectly with the surrounding nature. Nuances such as Maria Flora tricot white, sunshine and sunshine perennials plushy velvet cushions adorn generous dining and cosy lounge areas, inviting moments of conviviality on board.

For M/Y Kasper 7’s owners, socialising is at the core of the project. Testifying to this vision, there is only one television on board and no swimming pool, in a clear invitation to spend time with friends and to enjoy the sea all around them.

The walls are adorned with artworks carefully chosen by the owner in muted pastel colours, pointing up the informal, contemporary mood but without weighing the space down. Custom furnishings and decorative elements, such as ceramic sculptures, dining tables up to four metres long and furniture created by artists, enrich the setting even further. Vintage pieces selected and collected by the owner also add a personal touch, such as the chairs in the dining area on the Main Deck and some of the lamps on the Lower Deck.

This combination of elegant design, carefully considered colour choices and versatile spaces ensures that every corner of M/Y Kasper 7 offers a sense of pleasure and warmth, creating the perfect setting in which to enjoy moments of relaxation during holidays at sea.

There’s no lack of spaces on board M/Y Kasper 7 dedicated to conviviality and wellbeing, such as the spacious gym on the Bridge Deck, or the generous sofas with their soft, flowing shapes and dining tables to welcome guests at any time of day for an on-board lifestyle devoted to socialising.

Another personalisation can be found in the guest cabins on the Lower Deck, where each room has its own identity. Accessories and artwork carefully selected by the owner give every setting a unique style and each cabin is named after a character from Kasper, the cartoon that gave the yacht her name.

M/Y Kasper 7 is also a triumph of FSC®-certified teak, used extensively for the decks, doors, pillars and furniture, in a perfect combination of colours with the chromatism of the steel elements and the paint coating the hull. FSC® certification is a guarantee that the teak used for the flooring is sourced from responsibly managed forests with a planned cycle of environmentally sustainable tree harvesting and replanting.

In addition, M/Y Kasper has 3-star certification from Sea Index®, the tool launched by Yacht Club de Monaco to measure the CO2 emissions of yachts over 25 metres.

M/Y Kasper 7 is powered by two 1,350 kW CATERPILLAR engines, giving her a top speed of 16 knots and a range of 5000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots. The yacht has five cabins accommodating up to 10 passengers, with 11 crew cabins for up to 19 crew members.
