[dropcap]A[/dropcap]fter having brought to the Monaco Yacht Show the CBI Navi’S 40m luxury expedition super yacht “Stella di Mare” last year, Arch. Umberto Maria Fossati for the second year in a row signs the interior of a 30m megayacht built at the Viareggio-based yard, Fipa Group, with the brand Maiora Yachts. Named “Taboo of the Seas”, the yacht was delivered to the client this summer and participated in the boat shows in Cannes and Monaco.
The brand new model “ Maiora 30 WalkAround” measures 30.46m in lenght with 7.5m of beam and 112.7 tonnes of full displacement. The yacht has a cruisine speed of 23kn and a maximum speed od 23kn.
The interior style reflects bright and sober environments, with a touch of warmth and hospitality. The Turin-based design studio Fossati Design Bureau worked at the interiors trying to combine a contemporary taste with a sort of classic wisdom. The interior design is enhanced by custom tinted oak as the main design theme. White leather and mat brass inlays, in turn, add to the luxury sensation a touch of royal glamour, reflecting contemporary style with distinguishable and elegant aesthetics using warm neutrals.
The huge interior volumes are framed by large windows that allow much more light in, as well as a complete and wide view of the outside, giving the interior more habitability and an even more spectacular appearance: a continuous environment with the outside – thanks to a generous height of more than 210 cm, typical of larger motor yachts. It is on the main deck that the large available spaces are most appreciated: the bright saloon offers both a relaxation area with large sofas with chaise longue and coffee table, and the dining area with a table where there are comfortable seats for up to 10 people.
The target goal with such layout is to obtain areas dedicated to the crew, without disturbing the presence of guests on board. The crew has access to the side entrance to the galley, which leads to the lower deck where there is a large dinette complete with seating, table, refrigerator, sink, TV and display for CCTV control and monitoring system of the boat.
Access to the wheelhouse is from the hallway created between the door of the galley and the door of the living room for a much better privacy for guests.
The Master Stateroom, forward on the main deck, has been designed to enjoy a spectacular sea view even when in bed, and is equipped with bathroom equipped with double sink. The Suite is completed by a Vanity, which can be transformed into a desk if necessary.
The second owner’s full-beam stateroom is located on the lower deck and is complete with a generous bathroom with double sink and a walk-in closet.
There is also space for two guest cabins complete with en-suite bathrooms and wardrobes, the starboard side with a double bed and the port side with two single beds sliding into one double bed + one folding bed.
The shipyard has maximized the innovative “walk-around” solution for the flybridge: it is a completely open and accessible all around bridge (from here “walk-around”) with the helm station – completely redundant in the controls with the internal one – almost in the center of the ship, leaving the entire surface of the bridge for the use by the Owner and guests. The advantage and comfort are very clear: there are no obstacles, no doors or openings to activate, no steps. Everything is on a single level in order to allow an uninterrupted and totally unique communication between the aft area of the flybridge and the one in the front, thus being able to move easily. The reason behind this decision comes from the fact of being able to enjoy, on the flybridge, the incredible surface of about 110 square meters., to be used completely free from obstacles from stern to bow, facilitating in this way the use of the flybridge area.
The whole sun deck area can therefore be used as a sunbathing area and lounge/dining area or, if desired, it is possible to completely clear the flybridge from all the chaise longue to live it as a terrace, even for some event or exclusive party on board. All enriched by a beautiful custom-built hot tub at the very stern and a professional bar furniture to serve guests.
To complete the area covered by the comfortable hard top, a dining table that can accommodate up to ten people.
The bow area is furnished with sunbeds, while still guaranteeing privacy and comfort for guests who wish to enjoy a more reserved area but always in the sun. Eventually, a practical system of a carbon fibre poles and large curtain in micro-perforated fabric can provide a pleasant area to protect from the sun.
On board the aft garage is capable of accommodating a 4.20mt tender, and a useful area dedicated to the bar, in order to take pleasure in the aft area when you are, for example, at anchor and you wish to enjoy the toys and other inflatables.
This MAIORA 30, equipped with two electric diesel generators of 40 KW each, is powered by two Caterpillar C32 Acert engines of 1925 bHp (1417 Kw @ 2300 rpm), and is able to reach a maximum speed of 23 knots and 20 knots of cruise. But, thanks to the efficient hull and dynamic stabilization system, consisting of two active stabilizing fins with electric actuation and “ZERO Speed” function, maximum comfort on board is also guaranteed at idle speeds and when the boat is at anchor.
Finally, the shipyard has introduced a further solution to guarantee easy access on board even when using wheelchairs or strollers: with the innovative “easy access” solution it is in fact possible to easily get on board, enter the saloon and reach the Owner’s cabin on the main deck.
