Build #370, the 116 metre long Expedition Support Vessel is the second yacht delivered from Kleven to Mr Graeme Hart, the New Zealander businessman – the richest person in New Zealand – owner of the Rank Group Ltd, a private investment company that owns 100% of Reynolds Consumer Products, Burns Philpand Carter Holt Harvey.
Mr Hart and his family attended the launch seremony at the yard in Ulsteinvik, Norway, as he did for the first yacht – the 107m Ulysses, delivered this year and now for sale.
“It has been a great pleasure working with Mr Hart and his team on this magnificent project. We highly appreciate the trust they have shown us by placing not just one but two orders with Kleven, in what was a new segment for us,” said Ståle Rasmussen, CEO of Kleven.
Kleven specialises in complex commercial offshore vessels, but against the increasing demand for private explorer yachts, it has directed its skills to the superyacht industry.
The new 116m, now on sea trials off the coast of Norway, is a five-deck yacht, of type MT 5006 MKII ESV, designed by Norwegian ship design company Marin Teknikk in cooperation with Naval Architect Kyle Dick of New Zealand based Oscar Mike Naval Architects. The expedition support vessel is specially designed for long voyages in rough waters and blends a robust, hard-working character with luxurious added extras. The vessel will accommodate 66 people, and is to be delivered from Kleven Verft in July this year.
