The first is the most significant “size” and is also the distinctive segment of the large yacht market, for which our country is recognised as a leader among the world producers and which is showing important signs of recovery internationally.
In particular, the majority of the Captains (with some Chief Engineers and Yacht Managers) represent private shipowners and come from all over the world.
Among those attending YARE 2018 are Captains of true legends of the seas, such as the sailing yacht Anatta (66 meters) built in Holland by Vitters shipyards with the design of Dubois Naval Architects studio and interiors curated by RWD; sailing yacht Enigma (75 mt) built custom in 1986 by DCAN and refitted for the first time in 2000 with luxurious interiors curated by Jorg Biederbeck and external entrusted to Tim Heywood Design; the clipper Maltese Falcon, the largest sailing boat in the world (88 meters), built inside the Perini Navi shipyard in Viareggio on a project by Ken Freivokh; the Anni Venti schooner designed and armed by the Codecasa shipyard of Viareggio in 1925; Hispania 1909 auric cutter (a rare “15M Class”, 31 meters length) made for the king of Spain Alfonso XIII at the beginning of the 20th century and the motor yacht Indian Empress (95 mt), one of the largest private yachts in the world by Oceanco shipyard, with 5 bridges, the capacity to accommodate over 70 people and a crew of 30 employees.
Confirmed marinas and ports attending YARE 2018 include: Porto Mirabello, One Ocean Port Vell, Port Vaubain, Marina di Loano and Port Tarraco. Companies that specialise in painting and similar treatments have a central importance for the refit process: Jotun and Boero are two of the leading Companies of the sector that will be present this year, as well as a broad representation of service Companies including H & H, Döhle Private Clients, Rina, Sos yachting, Lloyd’s Register and many others. Among the companies operating in the supply sector in attendance at the event, will be Fabbri Service, Cantalupi, Metrica, Veem and North Sails.
For the first time, YARE will be hosted in the heart of the nautical district of Viareggio, thanks to the availability of Lusben and Perini Navi shipyards and Versilia Nautical Club.
In addition to the business meetings, The Superyacht Captains’ Forum and district tours, Captains and companies present at YARE will have the opportunity to discover and taste Viareggio, and the magnificent territory of Versilia and Lucca.
